JHPIEGO Corporation, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to improve the health of women and families throughout the world. JHPIEGO is working in Albania under the global project ACCESS-FP, funded by USAID. ACCESS-FP is a global program aimed at addressing the unmet need for family planning among postpartum women. For the ACCESS-FP project in Albania, JHPIEGO seeks: POSITION: Program Coordinator OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: To coordinate and support program, financial, contractual, monitoring and administrative functions for the ACCESS-FP/ Albania Country Program. Specifically, this position will provide technical assistance in the nationwide dissemination of the national FP protocols. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in health-related field with 3+ years’ program and administrative experience in international public health development environment Understanding of global health and development approaches Knowledge of administrative processes and approaches and financial reporting and reconciliation Ability to work independently in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform Proficiency in writing and editing letters, reports and documents Ability to interact skillfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts, both domestically and internationally Strong decision-making skills and results-oriented approach Comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously Availability to travel independently nationwide Proficiency in MS Office Position is full-time, based in Tirana, Albania, to start 1 October 2009 through 30 September 2010, subject to extension based on funding availability.
